Benefits and Risks of Cosmetic Surgery Every Woman Should Know

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Currently, the standards of beauty are dictated by celebrities' trends, so, to gain self confidence, many people turn to cosmetic surgery. Liposuction becomes a surgical method to help the individual to regain confidence, but also mental and physical wellbeing. Cosmetic surgery is an innovative aesthetic treatment that targets both women and men in need of removing excess body fat. Latest innovations in medicine have allowed access to surgically embellishment.

Many people that use cosmetic surgery had previously attempted a diet and exercise regime without obtaining the desired effect.

Benefits

Cosmetic surgery benefits are multiple, appealing to mental life but also there is a huge impact on social or even professional level. Fat deposits are not only unattractive but even dangerous for the patients' life and health. Also, scars, ugly spots and moles are removed.

Benefits of the plastic surgery are particularly reflected on the social life of the patient. When you are unhappy and dissatisfied with your look and feel that you cannot integrate into society, plastic surgery is the best option. There are situations when you can be professionally discriminated because of physical appearance; other times, your personal life suffers as a result of forced inactivity of the body so the first thought that naturally comes is that you need a drastic change that can be easily obtained from cosmetic surgery.

Other benefits refer not only to body sculpture and to smooth, natural contour and firmly remodeled body, but to rapid recovery of the patient and postoperative signs, which are almost invisible, and disappear in time. Following the speed and the fact that the degree of psychological stress is almost non invasive, the recovery is accelerated and can be done at home. A few days after the intervention the patient can return to work, the only reference being to shun special effort in the first weeks.

Risks

Cosmetic surgery involves some risks. A viable candidate must meet certain conditions: to be serious and have a good health. People who have diabetes, infections in the body, heart problems or circulation problems are not ideal candidates for this intervention.

As any surgical intervention, the cosmetic surgery can have serious complications relating to allergic reaction to drugs or materials used during surgery, bacterial infection of the incision and skin damage. Other complications are related to skin necrosis, but this is a very rare problem. In these cases, the resulting wounds and bruises require extensive care to heal. But for an experienced physician such incidents are almost nonexistent.

In addition, not all patients have the same healing pattern; older patients are slower and imperfect in healing. Also the medicine used for anesthesia, may create side effects. "Poisoning" with anesthetics can cause some non-severe problems such as possible numbness in the members, tingling and eventually seizures. Some of those problems are followed by unconsciousness and respiratory or cardiac dysfunction.

Health problems caused by fluid imbalance can occur after patient discharge. Also, if during the surgery the body is infused with too much liquid, the heart, lungs and kidneys could be severely damaged.

When you just cannot face yourself in the mirror, the benefits of a normal happy life are overcoming any "might happen" risks.
